The general area for the licences is accessible by a major tarmac road from Dar es Salaam to Songea (1,200km), and then for a further 20km from Songea northwards to Mlilayoyo from where the properties can be accessed by bush tracks. The towns of Songea and Njombe are large, well populated and connected to the National Grid.

Mbinga
The property is approximately 150km southwest of Songea, and 600km by road from the Zambian border. The licence area can be accessed by approximately 20km of tarmac road running west from Songea and then 130km of gravel and dirt road through Mbinga, a rural town, to the eastern edge of the boundary. This track continues down the eastern edge of the licence and along the southern boundary to Mbamba Bay on the eastern shore of Lake Nyasa; several dirt roads also traverse the area. A train line runs approximately 150km to the north of the licence from Dar es Salaam east to west across the country.

Mkuju
Mkuju East & North sit largely within Phanerozoic aged rocks comprising the Luwegu Formation, unconformably underlain by the Precambrian Lirondo Complex, of which only the Luhira Unit is exposed within the licence area.
Geological mapping indicates that the Luwegu Formation, analogous to the uranium- hosting Karoo Sediments, consisting of non-metamorphic sedimentary rocks, is subdivided into two members, the Mbaliwali Member overlain by the Ligombe Member.
Mkuju West is predominantly underlain by Precambrian Usagaran metasediments, gneisses and syn-orogenic granite, which hosts pegmatitic veining. A hydrothermal vein related uranium anomaly was identified on the licence during the airborne radiometric survey conducted by Geosurveys International G.m.b.H, in the late 1970’s.

Mbinga
The Mbinga licence is largely underlain by Proterozoic-aged granite, which has been mylonitised, sheared and faulted. Karoo-aged sediments, conglomerates, sandstone and mudstones occur within the south-eastern part of the licence. Several airborne radiometric anomalies identified from the survey conducted by Geosurveys International G.m.b.H, in the late 1970’s, occur within the licence.
